Storm at the Beach

Recently we took the boys to Fort Walton Beach for a few days. One day a big storm began brewing over land. This is one of the images that I grabbed before the rain started. I actually shot several frames with different exposures in the hopes of using this as an HDR subject (whenever I get time for that experiment). But in the mean time, I hope you enjoy this. There were very few tweeks done on this photo. This is really how dark the storm was.

Shooting at the Pool

I love taking day shots at the pool. This was taken at the boys' first swim meet this year. It was Colin's first, and the big boys swam better than they ever did last year. As you can see, I was able to get some really clear shots with really fast shutter speeds. Checkout my Flickr Photostream for more shots.

Holga Effect

So, I just got back from visiting family in Atlanta, and my niece has taken a couple of years of photography at her high school. She shoots only film and develops her own Black and White. Very cool kid. After looking at her Holga prints, I thought I would come home and try to duplicate the "Holga Effect" using Pixelmator.
Here is the result of Round One.

Critiqued by Scott Bourne

I learn something new everyday. In this case I got a great photoshop lesson from Scott Bourne. Well, he didn't actually give me a lesson, but he did critique a photo of my middle son Cameron on his new site, www.scottcritiques.com. For those of you haven't checked out Scott's site, or more importantly the podcast THIS WEEK IN PHOTGRAPHY (www.twipphoto.com), you should.
I would also like to say that I have had the unbridled pleasure of listening and learning from Scott and his cohorts for the last year or so. I just want to thank Scott for his inspiration as well as his tutelage through podcasting.
